Nowra Croquet Club welcomes all members and guests. We are one of the oldest croquet clubs in New South Wales and have been in existence since 1922.
OUR FACILITIES
Our new premises in West Birriley Street, Bomaderry, provides four courts and a well equipped clubhouse. We also have an outdoor undercover barbeque and seating area. The large glass windows and doors of the clubhouse allow members to watch play on the
courts from inside the clubhouse or on the outside verandah.
Our clubhouse provides a full kitchen, separate male and female bathrooms, and an additional disabled bathroom. The front entry in West Birriley St has parking for ten cars including one disabled car parking spot. Extra parking and easy access via a paved pathway, is located behind the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre
in Cambewarra Road.
The clubhouse is the base for members and guests to receive sporting and social information, hold meetings, enjoy social days,
and interact over morning and afternoon teas.
Nowra Croquet Club values the competition that the game of croquet provides, but also the social side of life. We see the game as a game for all ages and abilities. Currently our youngest member is 11 years old, with the the oldest member being 95 years of age.
Games are usually held in two sessions daily, for three hours each (9am - noon and 1pm - 4pm) with members playing morning or afternoons, or sometimes both sessions.
Nowra Croquet Club hosts several different games of croquet:
Golf Croquet - which is the most popular, and often seen as the easiest to learn.
Association Croquet - which is cited as the purest form of the game.
Ricochet Croquet - which tests the roquet skills of players.
Gateball - is a fast, strategic game taking 30 minutes to play.
More information on the games can be found HERE.
