Croquet is a game of strategy, and you will find that it can be mentally stimulating, while the social aspect provides an opening to meet like minded individuals within the club, and the broader croquet community.
Croquet is a sport that offers effective, yet gentle exercise, that is easy on the joints and is generally non strenuous.
It is a great way to ensure that you move your body, while being accessible to all fitness levels and abilities.
The United States Croquet Association estimates that players walk more than two miles (3.2km) during an average match!
A 2011 study found that outdoor exercise was associated with greater decreases in tension, confusion and depression, when compared to indoor activities.
In 2010 a study found that even just 5 minutes of exercise in a green space can improve your mood.
The non-strenuous, low impact nature of the game makes it an activity that can be enjoyed throughout a lifetime.
Croquet only requires walking, minor bending and swinging of a mallet.
Nowra Croquet Club has members in their teens, up to their 90's, proving that the sport really is accessible to all.
